H.R. 852/S. 1588 The Environmental Health Research Act of 2003
- Substantially increase federal research into threats from hormone-disrupting
chemicals
- Requires the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences
(NIEHS) to report to the public every two years on the extent
to which hormone disruption by chemicals poses a threat to human
health and the environment.

AB 302 Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers Bill
- Bans the use of two polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE’s)
in California after 2008. These chemicals are commonly added to
computers, televisions, automotive interiors, and upholstered
furniture to slow the speech of fire. Non-toxic alternatives are
available.

- Amends the education law to require lead screening prior to
