• Safer Chemicals Healthy Families Coalition: LDA is an active member of the Safer Chemicals Healthy Families coalition, comprised of nearly 300 health and environmental organizations, consumer and parent advocates, and businesses working to promote safer chemical policies. • CHE Toxicant and Disease Database, from The Collaborative on Health and the Environment. Search this data base by disease or by chemical to find out what toxic chemicals are linked to which diseases, including levels of scientific documentation to support the claims.

• Green Product and Consumer Guides: Green Seal, certification for goods and services; The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics website; HealthyStuff website for chemicals in everyday products.

  • Center for Health, Environment and Justice: CHEJ believes in environmental justice, the principle that people have the right to a clean and healthy environment regardless of their race or economic standing.
  • Environmental Working Group: The EWG’s mission is to use the power of public information to protect public health and the environment.
    • The EWG recently released its Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce, a list of the “Dirty Dozen” and “Clean 15,” fruits and vegetables that are, respectively, high and low in residual pesticides.
